Beau Pascal Laurence
I am active with many Denver-based organizations dedicated to mutual aid and service. I work with current IV drug users through the Harm Reduction Action Center, as well as with a variety of at-risk populations served by Denver Public Health's REACH Project. I regularly donate bodywork to those involved in immigration reform (including detainees and their support networks), queer youth art programming (through Art for Ashes), and progressive causes (like Occupy Denver.)
After a decade working in professional and volunteer kitchens, I returned to my roots in medicine, this time in chronic and client-centered care instead of the acute hospital-based model. I am queer-, transgender, and kink-friendly, as well as very adept at working with survivors of trauma. All of my work is guided by a very strong harm reductionist philosophy.
In addition to training in Advanced Neuromuscular Techniques, Lymphatic Drainage, Sports Massage, and trauma therapy, I have completed workshops in Reiki (a Japanese healing energy) and Thai bodywork, and am currently earning an advanced degree in Athletic Training as well as certification in Complete Decongestive Therapy (the approved treatment for lymphedema.)

I have a Western medicine background and I also believe in the value of the energetic healing arts. My work is tailored for each client's body, mind, and needs, although my style of working to a therapeutic depth while cultivating a relaxed and safe space can be felt in every session.
My training is from a nationally-known and highly-respected massage therapy school in the Denver area. I graduated from a 1,000 hour, 18-month, program (25% more hands-on hours than is required for state registration, and a 50% longer program than other Denver-area massage therapy schools provide).
I specialize in four distinct modalities of manual therapy. My training is extensive in these areas. It goes far beyond the basic exposure of most certified massage therapists to delve deep into the heart of the modality. You can be assured that I am aware of both the strengths and contraindications of every technique that I employ. My training allows me to safely customize each session to YOUR body in EACH session.
